Carmen

Carmen

Carmen is Chile’s first winery, founded in 1850 by Christian Lanz, which he named “Carmen” in honor of his beloved wife. Today, Carmen continues to be Chile’s oldest and most historic winery, specializing in single-vineyard wines from the best terroirs Chile has to offer. In 1994, Carmen rediscovered the Carmenère grape – long thought extinct – in its own vineyards in the Alto Maipo region. After this discovery, it became the first Chilean producer of a single-varietal Carmenère wine called Grande Vidure. All Carmen wines are certified by Wines of Chile and the Chilean Wine Industry for adhering to the National Sustainability Code.
