The fruit from Daisy’s Pinot Grigio all come from the Columbia Valley in Washington. The Pinot Grigio from the Ancient Lakes AVA dominates and sets the tone for the blend. The Riesling from the legendary Art Denhoed Vineyard lifts aromas and brings a racy key lime quality. Muscat from the Upland Vineyard brings an exotic depth of fruit, while Sauvignon Blanc from the Sunset Vineyard in the Ancient Lakes brings some citrus and savory elements. This results in gorgeous aromas of hay, grapefruit, lychee, licorice and summer flowers with an underlying flinty minerality.
The majority of fruit used in Skin Contact (Orange) came from the Golden West Vineyards, located between the Wahluke Slope and Ancient Lakes AVAs in Northern Columbia Valley. This vineyard is unique because it offers a mix of limestone, volcanic and sandy soils. While the remaining fruit came from Sunset, Homestead, and Art de Hoed vineyards located in the Yakima Valley. The use of several AVAs worked to our advantage coming together to create a wine filled with exotic floral beauty, heirloom fruits, spice and briny umami.
